The Golleys gang head to the Drum Roses Awards

It was great night as we picked up seven awards for our work with Mitsubishi Motors and Welsh Government.

On Wednesday we jumped on a train and popped up to Manchester to attend the Drum Roses Creative Awards

The awards are a chance to celebrate the exceptional creative talent outside of London, but they were also a chance for Jude, Paul, Rich, Sophie and Vics to get their gladrags on and let their hair down after a few *very* busy months working on some huge campaigns.

And it’s fair to say the trip was well worth it as we picked up seven awards, including the prestigious Chair Award for our work with Mitsubishi Motors!

Our ‘Human Sanctuary’ advert picked up three awards including the Chair Award, Gold in Online Video and Gold in the Automotive Category.

The advert which is shot in the style of a mockumentary takes place in what looks like a zoo but is quickly revealed to be an overworked human sanctuary filled with accountants, chefs and supermarket cashiers. You can read more about the advert here.

Our Organ Donation Wales advert also won three awards including Gold in the Public Sector category and Silver in both the TV/Cinema campaign and TV/Cinema Commercial over 21 seconds.

We designed the advert to encourage families to talk about their organ donation decisions in a bid to reduce the number of families overrides and shows a man’s face being taken over by various family members trying to block his decision to donate his organs. You can read more about that campaign here.

And finally our ‘Money Monster’ campaign for Welsh Government: Student Finance Wales won the bronze award in the Finance and Professional Services campaign.

After he’d recovered from celebrating we spoke to our Creative Director Rich, who said: “We’re thrilled to do so well at The Drum Roses Awards. It was a fantastic night and really it’s a reward for the whole team in Cardiff who’ve put in a lot of hard work over the last year.

“Importantly, it sends out a loud and clear message that Wales has some truly creative people – you don’t have to be in London to be a big-hitting agency. We’re already looking forward to next year.”

We also wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our partners who helped us out on these campaigns, we couldn’t have done it without you. And also a huge well done to all the other agencies who picked up awards on the night!
