Golley’s week that was #5

From meeting vibrant cultural organisations to spreading the message of why people should invest in Wales, here’s what we’ve been up to this week…

Want to know why to invest in Wales?

We’ve been working on the Enterprise Zones Trade and Invest campaign which aims to promote Wales as a base for businesses, showcasing the support and facilities to those who are interested in locating here. In order to spread the message wide and far we’ve been targeting the general public / business travellers and owners at key gateways and entry points into Wales.

From 6 sheets to petrol nozzles, from airport advertising to large digital screens in motorway service stations, we’ve covered areas like Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool.

We’re getting on board with the business leaders of the future

Our head of Strategy and Insights went on an Arts and Business Cymru training course this week. The course was designed to train young leaders to take up their first roles on boards in the arts. Angharad got to meet different representatives from a range of industries at the course – from law firms, banks to insurance companies. The next step is for her to be partnered with an organisation and start her role as a board member.

Our PR team shared the tools the tools of their trade

This morning, Jenny and Hannah ran a workshop for Arts & Business Cymru members on ‘Working with the Media’. Attended by a variety of arts organisations from around Wales, the session looked at how organisations in the arts and culture sector can benefit from using PR effectively, including raising awareness of their mission, selling tickets and boosting membership numbers. We shared insider hints and tips on everything from crafting a news story, writing a stand-out headline, engaging journalists and handling a PR crisis!

We’ve been helping Transport For Wales launch their Advance tickets

Transport for Wales have launched Advance tickets on thousands of new journeys. Given the environment at the start of the year with rising ticket prices across the UK network, TFW are launching this new product which will give consumers considerable savings across thousands of new journeys in Wales and the Borders, bought in advance.  We’ve developed a campaign across social, digital, radio, press and outdoor to help share the news to save those pounds!
