Golley’s week that was #25

We’ve been helping Trade Centre Wales perfect its social

This week we’ve been working with Trade Centre Wales to create social videos that encourage engagement on the car dealer’s social channels. Wales’ leading used car sales company originally had showrooms in Merthyr and Cardiff North, but after recent growth has made the decision to branch out into the rest of the UK, opening the first Trade Centre UK site in Wednesbury.

Our favourite video was ‘What would you name this car’. We think the proud new owner should call the car Marvin the Mini!

Results day took over the Golley’s office.

In the lead up to results day, we’ve been working with the Welsh Government and Careers Wales to promote their ‘Where Now?’ campaign for 16 – 19 year olds. Results day was a key part of the campaign and provided us with a great opportunity to communicate our message by sourcing opportunities within Welsh media. Our Creative Communications team secured blanket broadcast coverage for the Careers Wales’ advisors, which included slots on ITV Wales, BBC Radio Cymru, BBC Radio Wales, Newyddion 9, Heart FM & Capital, The Wave and Made in Cardiff, as well as numerous pieces of print and online coverage too.

Our media team delivered digital outdoor advertising throughout the whole of Wales to promote the Welsh Government’s Apprenticeship Campaign. Check it out in action below on the Digi van.

We headed to the big smoke to witness the latest in out of home advertising

Clear Channel and Primesight welcomed our team to their headquarters in London for the day to showcase the latest creativity in out of home advertising.

We began the day with Primesight, one of the UK’s leading media owners, who took us on a tour of their London sites to show what they offer and show off the latest developments. This included the new InLink system, a new communications service that will replace over 1,000 payphones in major cities across the UK,

Primesight said, “For brands this is an opportunity to get even closer to consumers (for whom this isn’t just an advertising screen)”

We’ve taken full advantage of this for our Welsh Government Apprenticeship Campaign featuring one of our case studies, it was great to see this in action on the streets of London.

We then headed into the playground – Clear Channel’s creative showcase right in the heart of Soho. Here we  explored the variety of media displays including interactive touchscreens, tweet activated vending machines, and many more.

We loved the advertising displays from Lurpak’s Christmas campaign encouraging users to press a button to release a variety of smells, including ginger bread! PrimeSight found that there is 32 % more engagement with time relevant ads, so this was perfect for giving people those ‘Christmas Feels’. We also used the tweet-activated vending machine featured in Walkers’ ‘Do us a Flavour’ campaign’, where users were encouraged to tweet for free crisps.

It’s the end of our summer road show for client’s Organ Donation.

Our special sofa visited the streets of Wales this month for a series of #TalkOrganDonation summer roadshows to get more people sharing their organ donation decisions with their friends and families.

A new survey has revealed that 48% of us have our most important life-changing chats while sitting on the sofa. So, we created a pop-up mobile living room to encourage members of the public who are out and about at events over the summer to sit down and have the organ donation chat then and there.

Our social team popped along to the events to capture some of the conversations that were taking place, it was lovely to see so many people engaging in such an important cause which makes us really proud to work on this campaign, check out our video below of one of the events we visited.
