Golley’s week that was #26

Our team have been out filming with some of the top vocational learners in Wales for Worldskills

We hopped on a train to pay Wrexham a visit late last week  and filmed at JCB Transmissions as part of a  video for the Welsh Government’s WorldSkills programme. Who says PR isn’t glamorous?

WorldSkills challenges the top vocational learners at their chosen skill who can compete at a regional, UK, European and even international level. We’ve been filming a variety of different case studies for a video to encourage future applicants to take part. Stay tuned to see the final version later this month!

Oxford University halls became our home whilst filming for client the Seren Network

Our Creative Comms team spent a busy week in Oxford, staying in student digs at the beautiful Jesus College to film live social content and a compilation video for our client The Seren Network. During the week we got to follow students as they saw for themselves what going to university at Oxford might be like, and we were pleased to see it wasn’t as intimidating as you might think.

The Network encourages Wales’ brightest sixth formers to aim for the top universities and hosts its annual Summer School at Jesus College.

We’ve been helping client Cardigan Castle spread the word about its range of services

Do you want to stay in a castle surrounded by two acres of glorious grounds and panoramic river views? Or perhaps get away for a special retreat to relax and refresh? This, and more can happen all under one huge roof at Cardigan Castle.

We’re helping to showcase the range of things you can do when visiting this 900-year-old castle, including the chance to get married at a truly unique location.

After running a successful advertising burst earlier this year, we are now onto the second stage of the campaign serving out ads on Facebook, Twitter and Google that were filmed and edited by our own social team.

We headed to Cardiff and Vale’s city campus to chat about future opportunities.

This week we were invited down to Cardiff and Vale’s city centre campus, it was a great opportunity to meet with course leaders and other members of the faculty to discuss how we can work together to provide the best opportunities for their students.

The college already works with, the likes of the BBC and ITV to  provide quality work experience for its pupils. andThis gives them a taste of the media industry and helps students see how what they learn on their course would play a role in a working environment.

The college offers a range of courses at different levels  aimed at developing skills in art, design or multimedia, and helping students  prepare for a career in the creative industry.

With past students going on to secure impressive roles in areas such as graphic design, website design, we’ll be keeping our eyes on the talent making their way through the college. Who knows, we may be welcoming them to the Golley team one day.

And here’s the Golley’s gossip…
